I was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to sponsor this event. Seeing old friends and making some new ones made it a night to remember!

A+D MUSEUM MERGES DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE, FASHION & TECHNOLOGY FOR FASHION SHOW, AUCTION AND PARTY, TRIPLING ANNUAL FUNDRAISER ATTENDANCE

(Los Angeles, CA – March 12, 2012) The Architecture + Design Museum > Los Angeles (A+D) celebrated its eleventh year of cutting edge exhibitions and progressive architecture and design programming at its annual fundraiser on March 10th, tripling ticket sales and raising significantly more, through tickets and the one-of-a-kind auction items, compared to their last fundraiser.

Titled “CELEBRATE: The Wearable,” the evening featured a runway event with live and silent auction of 48 wearable artworks provided by top talent from the realms of architecture, design, fashion, graphic, product, industrial and the visual arts.  The live auction portion of the evening was emceed by the vibrantly dressed duo of Los Angeles humorist/author Charles Phoenix and KCRW’s “DnA” host Frances Anderton.

“’CELEBRATE 2012: The Wearable’ surpassed our expectations!  I applaud the architecture and design community for their tremendous talent and support.  We just might have to do this again,” stated A+D Museum Executive Director Tibbie Dunbar.

Los Angeles Artist Collective creatively projected museum images all evening, as well as a live feed of the runway show, onto the giant exterior walls of both the A+D Museum and the East-facing wall of the Petersen Museum, creating a neighborhood light show and place to view the runway for those who couldn’t squeeze into the room.  Meanwhile, PAMA and IZZE served up A+D-themed cocktails alongside Scott Roeb’s beef and chicken sliders and vegetable skewers, while DJ Raul Campos rocked the house.
